Publications

Peter Camp has written extensively on compliance topics for solicitors.   In 1986 he was the author and editor of the first edition of the Law Society’s Guide to the Professional Conduct of Solicitors and repeated this role for the second and third editions.

Since 1995 he has been an editor of Cordery on Solicitors where he is responsible for the sections on Financial Services and on the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules. He has contributed to Silverman Conveyancing Handbook since 2000 where he writes the chapters on Money Laundering, Property Fraud and Financial Services.

He has written many published articles on compliance issues and in 2009 was appointed General Editor of the Law Society’s Legal Compliance Bulletin.

He has co-authored books on Partnership law (Practical Partnerships, 1982) and on Employment Law (Dismissal and Taxation of Employees, 1982; and Individual Employment Law, 1988).

Solicitors and Financial Services – A Compliance Handbook: 3rd edition 2002

This book shows how compliance with the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 may best be achieved. It takes practitioners through the compliance requirements for those not authorised by the F.S.A. Updated to 2002.

 

Solicitors and Money Laundering – A Compliance Handbook: 3rd edition 2009

The third edition of this bestselling guide has been fully updated (January 2009) to take account of the impact of significant developments in legislation and best practice including the Money Laundering Regulations 2007.

Solicitors and the Accounts Rules – A Compliance Handbook: 2nd edition 2009

The book outlines the basic requirements of the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules 1998 (including amendments made to 31st March 2009) and addresses the systems and procedures that can be put in place to ensure that practices are compliant. A 3rd edition (incorporating the new Accounts Rules contained in the SRA’s Handbook) is expected to be published during 2011.

A Companion to the Solicitors’ Code of Conduct 2007: 2nd edition 2009

The Companion provides commentary and guidance on the Solicitors’ Code of Conduct 2007 (updated to 31st March 2009) to help practitioners understand the nature of the changes made as a result of the partial implementation of the Legal Services Act 2007.
